Amphixystis Explained

Amphixystis is a genus of moths belonging to the family Tineidae. The family was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1901.[1]

Hostplant records are only known for 2 species of this genus: Amphixystis anchiala had been recorded feeding on Euphorbia resinifera, Citrullus colocynthis (Cucurbitaceae), Dioscorea alata and Dioscorea rotundata (Dioscoreaceae)[2] and Amphixystis syntricha that feeds on Pandanus montanus (Pandanaceae).[3]
