Amphissites Explained

Amphissites is an extinct genus of ostracod (seed shrimp) belonging to the suborder Beyrichicopina (ornamented beyrichiocopids^[1]) and family Amphissitinae.^{[2] [3]} Species belonging to the genus lived from the Devonian^[4] to the Permian^[5] in Europe,^{[6] [7]} North America, Australia, and east Asia.^[8] The genus were likely deposit-feeders, and may have survived briefly into the Triassic.^[9]
