Amor amargo is an upcoming Mexican telenovela produced by Pedro Ortiz de Pinedo for TelevisaUnivision.[1] It is based on the 2007 Portuguese telenovela Ilha dos Amores, created by Maria João Mira and Diogo Horta. The series stars Andrés Palacios and Ana Belena. It is set to premiere on Las Estrellas in November 2024.
After his father's death, Tomás returns to the quaint town of Todos los Santos determined to unravel the truth behind his murder.
On 10 June 2024, it was reported that Pedro Ortiz de Pinedo had begun casting for the female protagonist of his next telenovela, titled Amor amargo, with Andrés Palacios, Martha Julia and Valeria Masini being confirmed as part of the cast.[3] On 15 July 2024, Ana Belena was confirmed as the female protagonist, with Daniela Romo and Arturo Peniche cast as the antagonists of the story.[4] Filming began on 31 July 2024, with the rest of the cast being announced as well.[5] [6]
