He is currently serving as mayor of Phungling Municipality in Taplejung District.^{[1] [2]} He defeated the CPN (Unified Marxist–Leninist) candidate, Chhatrapati Pyakurel, by receiving 6,179 votes.^{[3] [4] [5]}
