Amelia Earhart Airport is a city-owned airport two miles west of Atchison, in Atchison County, Kansas, United States. It is named for Atchison native Amelia Earhart.
Amelia Earhart Airport covers 77acres; its one runway, 16/34, is 3,000 x 48 ft (914 x 14 m) asphalt.
In the year ending September 27, 2022, the airport had 16,100 general aviation aircraft operations, average 44 per day. 25 aircraft were then based at the airport: 22 single-engine, 2 multi-engine, and 1 glider.
The Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum, which had its gala opening on April 14, 2023, is based at the airport.[2] It houses the sole surviving model E version of the Lockheed 10 Electra in which Earhart was lost.[3]
