The men's super-G competition of the Lillehammer 1994 Olympics was held at Kvitfjell on Thursday, 17 February.[1] [2]

Norway's Kjetil André Aamodt was the defending Olympic and World Cup super-G champion and Marc Girardelli led the current season.[3]

Germany's Markus Wasmeier won the gold medal, downhill champion Tommy Moe took the silver (on his 24th birthday), and Aamodt was the bronze medalist.[4]

The Olympiabakken course started at an elevation of 823m (2,700feet) above sea level with a vertical drop of 641m (2,103feet) and a course length of 2.574km (01.599miles). Wasmeier's winning time was 92.53 seconds, yielding an average course speed of 100.145km/h, with an average vertical descent rate of 6.927m/s.

The race was started at 11:00 local time, (UTC +1). At the starting gate, the skies were clear, the temperature was -10C, and the snow condition was hard; the temperature at the finish was lower, at -15C.
