Alasdair Beckett-King is an English stand-up comedian, video game writer, and actor from Durham.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] He won the 2017 Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, and Chortle's Breakthrough Comedian of the Year in 2023.

Early life

Beckett-King is half-Scottish. He attended York St John University and graduated in 2012.[7] [8] He holds an undergraduate degree in Politics and an MA in Journalism.[9]

Career

Beckett-King was listed among the finalists of So You Think You're Funny in 2013. He was also among the finalists of in 2014.[10]

Beckett-King won the 2017 Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.[11]

Beckett-King has appeared on The Comedian's Comedian with Stuart Goldsmith and Unforeseen Incidents.[12] He co-hosts the Loremen podcast with James Shakeshaft.[13]

Beckett-King created the adventure games , released in 2007, and Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet, released in 2016.[14] [15] He also wrote the script for the adventure game Unforeseen Incidents, released in 2018.[16]

Since 2019, he publishes comedy sketches, which are written, acted, produced and animated by himself, on his YouTube channel.[17]

In 2022, Beckett-King voiced the character of "The Floater" in Doctor Who: Redacted, produced by BBC Studios.[18] [19] He won the award for Breakthrough Act in the 2023 Chortle Awards.[20]

Beckett-King was an occasional panellist on Mock the Week, the British comic news quiz show, most notably appearing in the show's final ever episode.[21]
