Al Shami (Arabic: الشامي (referring to someone from either Damascus, Syria or the Levant, stage name) is a singer resident in Turkey originally from Syria, who performs a diverse range of songs, mostly in Levantine Arabic, that blend of Arabic and Hip Hop influences and merging modern rhythmic forms with traditional Arabic ones. Songs such as Chill and Layla reflect his personal journey and struggles with identity.[1] He has built a fan base in Turkey,[2] [3] Arabic-speaking countries, as well as European countries such as Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Austria.[1]

His track Ya Leil W Yal Ein won "Favorite Song" at the 2024 Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[4] The song has over 10 million plays on Spotify as of 2024, as well as at least three others with over a million plays.[5]
