Akuku-Toru is a Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Abonnema.
It has an area of 1,443 km and a population of 156,006 at the 2006 census.
The entire area of Akuku Toru Local Government Area is 4350 km^, of which more than 65% is submerged under water. The average temperature of the area is 25 degrees centigrade, and the humidity is 90%.
