Gaelic football has a long tradition of being played within the parish of Aghamore. The first known club within the parish was called Annagh Rovers, due to being formed within the townland of Annagh. After the re-drawing of county and parish boundaries in 1898, the townland of Annagh was transferred from Aghamore parish to Ballyhaunis parish, which took on the name Annagh
