Actinospica Explained

Actinospica is a genus in the phylum Actinomycetota (Bacteria).

Etymology

The name Actinospica derives from:
Greek noun (Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: ἀκτίς, ἀκτῖνος), a beam (=an actinomycete-like bacterium); Latin feminine gender noun spica, tuft; Neo-Latin feminine gender noun Actinospica, an actinomycete with tufts of aerial hyphae.

Phylogeny

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[1] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)[2]
