In November 2013, Mandal was nominated by Bangladesh Awami League to contest the 10th parliamentary elections from Sirajganj. He was elected to Parliament on 5 January 2014 from Sirajganj-5, representing Belkuchi Upazila and Chauhali Upazila.[7] [8] He was a member of the Parliamentary Committee on the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.[9] He is the founding chairman of Mondol Group.[10]
