Abashin Explained
Abashin (Russian: Абашин; masculine) or Abashina (Russian: Абашина; feminine) is a Russian last name, a variant of which is Abashkin (Russian: Абашкин; masculine) or Abashkina (Russian: Абашкина; feminine).[1] These last names derive from "Russian: Аба́ша" (Abasha) and "Russian: Аба́шка" (Abashka)—the diminutive forms of the first name Avvakum—although other theories explaining the origins of these nicknames also exist (cf. Abashev).[2]
