Aarhus East nominating district is one of the 92 nominating districts that exists for Danish elections following the 2007 municipal reform.^{[3] [4] [5]} It is one of the four nomination districts in Aarhus Municipality, the others being Aarhus South, Aarhus West andAarhus North.^[6] It was created in 1970,^[7] with its boundaries being slightly changed in 2007.

In general elections, the district is a strong area for parties commonly associated with the red bloc.^[8]
