A. R. Somanath Iyer, (also written as A. R. Somnath Iyer) was an Indian lawyer and jurist who served as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. His tenure as Chief Justice was from 23 November 1969 to 29 December 1969.[1] He held the position of Advocate-General of Karnataka from 1950 to 1954.[2] He served as the acting Governor of Karnataka[3] [4] from 30 August 1969 to 23 October 1969.
