8Radio.com is an Irish radio station, started in 2013 by Phantom FM founder Simon Maher.[2] [3] It is mostly an online music station, but has sometimes received a temporary licence from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) for FM broadcasts in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.[4] [5] [6]
Some of the station's presenters have had previous involvement with Phantom FM, including Steve Conway, Pearl, Amber, Brian Daly and Neil Murray. Others, such as Sinead Ni Chonaill and Angela Hughes, have had involvement in community stations such as Dublin City FM and RaidiĆ³ Na Life. Maher also presents his own programmes.
Simon Maher has described the station as finding "a niche among music lovers and those who may not currently consume much, if any, traditional FM radio".[7]
