6'.2" (6 feet, 2 inches) is a 2005 Indian Tamil language thriller film directed by V. Senthil Kumar. The film stars Sathyaraj, newcomer Sunitha Varma and Vadivelu, whilst music for the film was composed by D. Imaan. The film was released on 12 May 2005.
James and Mr. White work in a call centre in Chennai. James witnesses the murder of Krishnamurthy, a labor union leader. He promises the police to identify the murderer. In order to crack the case, a police inspector Soundarapandian urges the lady informer Aishwarya to act as James's wife and stay in a house opposite to Krishnamurthy's. Upon coming to the house, the couple tries to crack the case. In this regard, they befriend the family, but soon, Krishnamurthy's father is also murdered. Towards the interval, one realises that James is the murderer. In order to avenge the murder of his parents by Krishnamurthy and his brother Ramamurthy a few years ago, James stays in the house opposite to theirs. With knowledge of his motive, Aishwarya promises to help him in bumping off Ramamurthy, who returns from Australia.
The film marked the debut of V. Senthil Kumar who earlier assisted K. Bhagyaraj, Praveenkanth and Sakthi Chidambaram.[1] The film's title was named after Sathyaraj's height. The film was launched at Pillaiyar temple of AVM Studios on 21 January 2005.[2] The filming was held at Chennai and Ooty.[3]
The soundtrack was composed by D. Imman.[4]
Lyrics were written by Pa. Vijay and Snehan.
IndiaGlitz wrote "Though the movie has enough suspense and thrills, it certainly lacks pace in the second half and goes monotonous. But for Sathyaraj, the movie certainly lacks sheen in the second half".[5] Malini Mannath of Chennai Online wrote "It has a knot which had the potential to be turned into an engaging suspense thriller, and it has a couple of twists and turns that take the audience by surprise. But if only the debutant director had taken more care on weaving his screenplay, and had a tighter grip on his narration! There are too many loose ends here and too many distractions. So the knot with potential goes unexplored and the only interesting bits are the couple of twists and surprises in the script, the rest a hotch-potch of situations".[6] Visual Dasan of Kalki praised the director for building the suspense, Sathyaraj's performance and Vadivelu's humour and concluded saying it was satisfying watching a detective movie after a long break.[7]
