The 2024 Puerto Rico Democratic presidential primary was held on April 28, 2024, as part of the Democratic Party primaries for the 2024 presidential election. 60 delegates to the Democratic National Convention will be allocated to presidential candidates.[1] Incumbent President Joe Biden won the primary.[2]
In the 2020 Puerto Rico Democratic primary, Biden won 56% of the vote against former candidates Bernie Sanders and Michael Bloomberg, who had each withdrawn from the race at the time of voting.[3]
Incumbent President Joe Biden announced his bid for a second term on April 25, 2023.[4] He faces a primary challenge from author, progressive activist, and 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson,[5] and Representative Dean Phillips.[6] All three candidates appeared on the ballot.[7]
