The Pistons held the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, along with one second round pick. The NBA draft lottery was held on May 12, 2024.[7] [8] After finishing with the worst record in the league the previous season, the Pistons had a 14 percent chance of getting the top pick in the draft, and were guaranteed a top-five pick.[9] [10] This was the first NBA draft to be held on multiple nights.[11] [12] The Pistons traded for Bobi Klintman, who was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 37th overall pick.[13]
