On 4 July, Swansea City announced their first pre-season friendly, against 1. FC Köln as part of a week-long training camp in Austria.[25] Eleven days later, a second fixture in Austria was confirmed, against Vardar.[26]

On 27 June, the draw for the first round was made, with Swansea being drawn at home against Gillingham.[28] In the second round, they were drawn at home to Wycombe Wanderers.[29] [30]
