On May 23, Fulham announced their first pre-season friendly, against German side 1899 Hoffenheim.[45] On 9 July, a second friendly match was confirmed, against Benfica.[46] A third friendly, against Sevilla was next to be added.[47]

Fulham joined the FA Cup at the third round stage, and were drawn at home to Watford.[49]

As a non-European competing Premier League side, Fuham entered in the second round, and were drawn away to EFL League One side Birmingham City.[50] [51] In the third round, they were drawn away to EFL Championship side Preston North End, losing after 17 rounds of penalties.[52] [53]
