On 25 April, Bournemouth announced a pre-season tour to Los Angeles, with a friendly against Wrexham.[27] [28] Two home friendlies against Spanish opposition was later confirmed, Rayo Vallecano and Girona.[29] On 1 July, a second fixture for the United States tour was announced, against Arsenal.[30]

As a Premier League side not competing in European competitions, Bournemouth entered in the second round, and were drawn away to West Ham United.[32] [33]
