The 2023 World Weightlifting Championships was a weightlifting competition held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 4 to 17 September 2023.[2] [3]

The event served as a mandatory event to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.[4] The competition was previously expected to be held using two platforms instead of one.[5] [6]

Participating nations

A total of 719 competitors from 117 nations participated.[7]

North Korea entered a team in July 2023,[8] but was disqualified due to not allowing independent anti-doping testers into the country.[9]
