The 2023 Coates Talent League Girls season was the seventh season of the Talent League Girls competition for under-19 female Australian rules footballers in Victoria. The season commenced on 18 March and concluded with the Grand Final on 23 September.[1] The premiership was won by the Oakleigh Chargers, who claimed their second title by defeating the minor premiers Eastern Ranges in the grand final.[2]
The league consisted of 13 full-time teams (12 from Victoria and 1 from Tasmania) that competed in a thirteen-match, seventeen-round regular season. There were also five academy teams that partook in guest matches but were not eligible for finals (those teams were Brisbane Lions Academy, Gold Coast Suns Academy, Sydney Swans Academy, GWS Giants Academy and Northern Territory).
The finals series was determined via a conference system. The top four teams based in regional Victoria and Tasmania and top four teams from metropolitan Victoria compete in a knockout quarter final against another team from their conference, with the winners progressing to face a winner from the other conference in the preliminary final. The two preliminary final winners went on to meet in the grand final and play off for the premiership.[3]
NOTE: This ladder does not include the repechage round of fixtures between teams who did not qualify for the preliminary finals.
