Pre-season and friendlies

On 25 May, Burton Albion announced their first pre-season fixture, against Stoke City in the Bass Charity Vase.^[46] A day later, a second match was confirmed, against West Bromwich Albion.^[47] A third pre-season fixture was also added, against Nuneaton Borough.^[48] A fourth friendly, against Brackley Town was also scheduled for the Brewers.^[49] A short trip to face Alfreton Town was also confirmed by the club.^[50] A sixth friendly match was later added, against Crewe Alexandra.^[51] On 14 June, the club announced a seventh friendly, against Scunthorpe United.^[52]
