2023–24 Women's EHF European League Group stage explained

The 2023–24 EHF European League group stage was played between 6 January and 18 February 2024 to determine the eight teams advancing to the knockout stage of the 2023–24 Women's EHF European League.

Draw

The draw took place on the 23 November 2023 at 11:00 CET in Vienna, Austria.[1] The only restriction was that clubs from the same country cannot be in the same group. Bold indicates who advanced to the knockout stage.

Format

In each group, teams played against each other in a double round-robin format, with home and away matches.

Tiebreakers

In the group stage, teams were ranked according to points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss), and if tied on points, the following tiebreaking criteria were applied, in the order given, to determine the rankings:

  1. Points in matches among tied teams;
  2. Goal difference in matches among tied teams;
  3. Goal difference in all group matches;
  4. Goals scored in all group matches;
  5. If more than two teams were tied, and after applying all head-to-head criteria above, a subset of teams were still tied, all head-to-head criteria above were reapplied exclusively to this subset of teams;
  6. Drawing lots.
