The 2023–24 Ranji Trophy is the 89th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India.[1] It is contested by 38 teams, divided into four elite groups and a plate group, with eight teams in Group A. It took place between 5 January to 19 February 2024.[2] Group A was topped by Vidarbha while defending champions Saurashtra stood second after the seven rounds of the group stage matches. The two teams proceeded to the knockout stages.[3] Cheteshwar Pujara of Saurashtra and Hitesh Walunj of Maharashtra topped the charts from the group in the runs (780) and wickets (41) respectively.[4]
