Serena Williams defeated Vera Zvonareva in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2008 Family Circle Cup.[1] This was Williams' third successive title in the 2008 season, and her first clay court title since the 2002 French Open.[2]

Jelena Janković was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Zvonareva.
