The 2005–06 Divizia C was the 50th season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system.[1] [2]

Renamed teams

Avântul Silva Reghin was renamed as Avântul Reghin.

Telecom Arad was renamed as Romtelecom Arad.

Șoimii Vulturu was renamed as Energia Vulturu.

Olimpia Râmnicu Sărat was renamed as CSM Râmnicu Sărat.

Other changes

Prima Guard Alexandria was moved from Alexandria to Zimnicea and renamed as Prima Guard Zimnicea.

Lotus Băile Felix was moved from Băile Felix to Sânmartin, Bihor and renamed as Lotus Sânmartin.

Aurora Târgu Frumos were replaced by Energia Vulturu.

Victoria Muntenii de Jos were replaced by Willy Bacău.

Navol Oltenița were replaced by Gloria ANEFS București.

Tigar Giurgiu were replaced by Steaua II București.

Știința CFR Craiova were replaced by Arsenal Motru.

Minerul Sărmășag were replaced by Știința Cluj-Napoca.

Minerul Bălan were replaced by Predeal.

ASA Târgu-Mureș was dissolved and replaced by Maris Târgu Mureș.

Deva sold its place in the second tier to Corvinul 2005 Hunedoara at the end of the previous season, and took the place of Jimbolia in the third tier. As a result, their satellite Deva II, who were also playing in the third tier, were removed. To fill their spot, Inter Petrila was sparred from relegation.
