2001 Kremlin Cup – Women's singles explained

Jelena Dokić defeated Elena Dementieva in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2001 Kremlin Cup.

Martina Hingis was the defending champion, but lost to Dementieva in the quarterfinals.
