1999 Great American Insurance ATP Championships – Singles explained

Pete Sampras defeated the defending champion Patrick Rafter in a rematch of the previous year's final, 7–6(9–7), 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 1999 Cincinnati Masters.[1] [2]

With the win, Sampras reached his fourth title in this season, after previously winning at London (Queen's), Wimbledon and Los Angeles.[3]
