Arantxa Sánchez Vicario defeated Gabriela Sabatini in the final, 6–1, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1992 Miami Open.^{[1] [2]}

Monica Seles was the two-time defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Jennifer Capriati.^[3]
