Monica Seles defeated Martina Navratilova in the final, 6–1, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1990 Italian Open.[1] [2] [3] [4]

Gabriela Sabatini was the two-time defending champion, but lost in the semifinals to Navratilova.
