Making their first appearance in the Japan Series since 1964, the Tigers finally won their first Japan Series championship. For 38 years, it's the only Japan Series that was won by the Tigers until 2023, when they defeated fellow Kansai region team, Orix Buffaloes, breaking the Curse of the Colonel in the process.
