The 1984 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Organized by The Athletics Congress (TAC), the competition took place on February 25 and served as the national championships in indoor track and field for the United States.[1] The championships in combined track and field events were held at a different date.[2] [3]

The meeting concluded the USA-Mobil Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix series for that year. The women's overall points winner was Stephanie Hightower, who had "no intention, no plan to run indoors this season" due to a pinched sciatic nerve.[4]

Carl Lewis was a late entry because he did not want to enter until the meet could guarantee drug testing. He won the long jump despite fouling his first two attempts in qualification.[5]
