1979 French Open – Men's singles explained

Defending champion Björn Borg defeated Víctor Pecci Sr. in the final, 6–3, 6–1, 6–7^(6–8), 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1979 French Open. It was his fourth French Open title and seventh major title overall.
