The 1977 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Organized by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), the competition took place on February 25 and served as the national championships in indoor track and field for the United States.[1] The championships in combined track and field events were held at a different date.[2] [3]
The championships served as a qualifying event to make the U.S. team at a tri-meet against Canada and the Soviet Union the following week.[4]
