The 1967 Summer Universiade, also known as the V Summer Universiade, was a multi-sport event for university athletes that took place in Tokyo, Japan.[1]

Eastern Bloc countries including Soviet Union, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Cuba, Czechoslovakia and North Korea boycotted the Games due to the naming disputes about North Korea. It was overshadowed by the Soviet-led boycott of the 1984 Summer Olympics.[2]
