Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Cork in the Munster quarter-final.[1] [2]

The All-Ireland final was played at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on 17 September 1967 between London and Cork, in what was their second All-Ireland final meeting and a first in two years. London won the match by 1-09 to 1-05 to claim their first ever All-Ireland title.[3]
