• 2 January  - Incumbent Ayub Khan defeats Fatima Jinnah in the 1965 Pakistani presidential election.^[1]

August

• 1 August  - The inaugural issue of English-language weekly newspaper Holiday is published in Dacca.^[2]

September

• 6 September  - Border disputes over Kashmir erupt into full-scale war as Indian forces attack near Lahore.^{[3] [4]}
• 14 September  - The Battle of Chawinda commences.^[5]
• 23 September  - A ceasefire is implemented in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965.^[6]
