1958 Little All-America college football team explained

The 1958 Little All-America college football team is composed of college football players from small colleges and universities who were selected by the Associated Press (AP) as the best players at each position. For 1958, the AP selected three teams of 11 players each, with no separate defensive platoons.[1]

The first-team backfield included: quarterback John Greene who led Chattanooga to an upset victory over Tennessee; Robert Webb of St. Ambrose who gained 1,592 yards; and Ed Meador of Arkansas Tech who averaged 150 yards per game.[1]

Guard Carlos Gonzales of Cal Poly was the only junior chosen for the first team and the heaviest player selected at 230 pounds.[1]
