The 1957 Campeonato Paulista da Primeira Divisão,[1] organized by the Federação Paulista de Futebol, was the 56th season of São Paulo's top professional football league. São Paulo won the title for the 8th time. Linense was relegated. The top scorer was Pelé from Santos with 36 goals, including 17 of those goals in the Blue Series. In 1957, Pelé started his streak of being the league season's top scorer, which continued unbroken until 1965.[2] [3]
