The 1927–28 Washington Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Washington for the NCAA college basketball season. Led by eighth-year head coach Hec Edmundson, the Huskies were members of the Pacific Coast Conference and played their home games on campus at the new UW Pavilion in Seattle, Washington.
The Huskies were overall in the regular season and in conference play; first in the Northern division, the beginning of a five-year run as division winners. UW dropped their final conference game in overtime to Oregon.[2] The new UW Pavilion was opened in late December with a three-game series against
Washington traveled to Los Angeles and met Southern division winner USC in the Pacific Coast championship series.The Trojans swept in two close it was the fifth consecutive year that the title series was won by the Southern division team.
The National Invitation Tournament (NIT) debuted in 1938, and the NCAA Tournament in 1939.
