Parliamentary elections were held in Norway in 1841.[1] As political parties were not officially established until 1884,[2] all those elected were independents.[3] The number of seats in the Storting was increased from 99 to 100.[3] Voter turnout was 51%, although only 5.5% of the country's population was eligible to vote.[4]

Results

Of the 100 seats, 43 were won by farmers, sheriffs, church singers and teachers, 41 by civil servants and 16 by people with other professions.[5]
